Print Management
Comprehensive print management refers to the systems that can be deployed to physically and technologically manage all printing, scanning, faxing, and copying devices within your facilities. Additionally, print management includes directing printing or copying jobs to the most cost-effective output device. For example, printing 100 pages on a desktop printer is far more expensive on a cost per page basis than printing those 100 pages on a centrally-located, multi-functional device. This last feature is of increasing importance due to the proliferation of personal desktop printers that has taken place over the past 10 years. To give you an idea of how much of an organization’s budget is spent on documents and their related services, The Gartner Group, an IT research and consulting firm, states that 3-5% of an organization’s revenue is spent on this category.
